Participants of the first Ukrainian language marathon met in Kyiv on September 3.

The initiative is seeking to offer the Ukrainian language immersion programme for three weeks – that is, the participants should abstain from using the Russian language in all spheres of life.

The participants took part in quizzes and competitions testing their knowledge of philology and history.

Also, the organizers explained how to switch to Ukrainian on a daily basis, stick to Ukrainian and get rid of Russian words, speak better Ukrainian and enrich one’s vocabulary.

Nearly 5,000 people got registered for the Ukrainian language marathon. The programme will last another two weeks.
